Lake District Holiday, June 11th - 17th 2018. (cont. from page1) I have now confirmed our intention of going on this holiday and the deposits will be sent, but this doesn’t mean that the list is closed; we still have room for more people to join us but only twin & double rooms. If you have any friends who are interested, please collect the coloured flyer and booking form from me and as soon as they pay their deposit, we can include them in the group. If we still have spaces later in the year, I will contact ‘like groups’ in Burbage & Hinckley to extend them an invitation to accompany us. Barbara Ward

WALKING

All members are welcome to join any walk which you feel is within your capabilities. Please turn up at the noted meeting place, dressed sensibly for the terrain identified for the walk, i.e. boots or strong walking shoes, waterproofs if necessary, ready to begin the walk at 10.30am. You do not have to ring either myself or the appointed leader to ask if you can come, if I have a contact email address or telephone number, I will let you know if there are changes to the Newsletter.

Meet at “The Rising Sun,” Church Road, Shackerstone Leicestershire, CV13 6NNS. The walk is 4 miles, one stile countryside and two canal sections.

Windmill Hill Community Nature Area off B4111 Mancetter Road. This is a circular walk of 3.5 miles along country lanes, field paths and canal towpath. No stiles, easy walking. Parking is at the Windmill Hill Community Nature Area and it's free.
